| Torna Fort |
Torna fort, Pune, Maharashtra is the only fort that Shivaji had conquered when he took a vow for Swaraj at the historical place of Raireshwar. After this, Shivaji celebrated the occassion by putting a garland or a Toran as they say in Marathi on this fort. So the fort got the name Torna. Also known as Prachandagadh, this fort is quite vast and we were quite excited for what was forthcoming. So I looked forward to some surreal experience and was quite happy we made it this time.
Pune station to Torna fort travel distance is about 65km. We
went by the ST Bus to Velhe the village. Where you can take tea at a small tea
stall on the road and then proceeded after getting the information that there were
you find stays facilities in a temple on top of the fort. This was the Menghai
Devi temple.
Journey
to Torna Fort is quite wonderful, you all should go torna fort, at least one
time for having memorable experience in your life
HOW TO GO:
By Road: Halt at Pune Bus station, then after you can hire a
car or go buy ST Bus.
By Rail: Nearest railway station is Pune.
By Air: Nearest Airport is Pune Airport
